In an organization of elite assassins in India called Vishakanyas or "snake ladies", a group of people is trained from childhood to resist all kinds of poisons, and the few who manage to survive become highly prized weapons for the powerful. Among these assassins is Naja, our protagonist, who will have to find a miraculous cure that serves as an antidote to any poison, in order to save Daksha, her childhood friend who has been injured on a mission with an unknown poison. To do this, Naja must ally herself with Gaspar, a charismatic pirate and inveterate womanizer, who is rumored to have stolen the map to the island of Manasa, where the magical plant with which to make the cure is found.
